A New Challenger Arrives!
Hey there! All Bets Are Off! has just received a new major update, and things have changed just a little bit.
Among the major changes there's the following:
- The old Endless Mode has now become the new standard.
- As such, the old Classic Mode has now been completely phased out.
- However, this was not done for some frivolous reason, but rather it was a conscious choice in order to further accommodate some current and future additions to the game.
- Enemy spawning is no longer randomised, and now follows a strict timetable.
- This allows us to precisely control the difficulty curve, so that new players have an easier time getting inducted into the game, and old players have new challenges awaiting for them as the clock ticks over.
- This change also makes the scoring system more consistent, which will be relevant once we finally include the leaderboard that is currently in the works.
- Player movement should now be more responsive.
- While this wasn't much of a problem on PC, the Android version had some additional input lag due to the nature of the touch controls that often resulted in taking damage that could have been prevented with some quick reflexes.
And now, most significantly... Here's the star of this post, and perhaps the main reason why you clicked the thumbnail.
Please give a very warm welcome to the newest addition to our roster of enemies:
The Spinners are deadly.
- While regular enemies are the foot-soldiers that often will keep you preoccupied, the Spinners are flanking assassins that sometimes will come from out of view to take you out.
- Despite them being immune to the basic attacks from your die, a well-aimed hook'n tackle will send them hurling into packs of enemies and explode on impact.
In short, they are threatening enemies, but useful tools as well.
And you'll surely love catching them mid-charge, just to send 'em packing into heaps of enemies to wreck nasty destruction. They are the real highlight of this update.

Now, with that out of the way...
Perhaps you noticed the game's page going dark over the past week.
There was nothing wrong. The game wasn't dead.
We were just trying to land a deal with publishing label Noodlecake Studios, the ones behind the publishing of mobile gaming hits such as "Alto's Adventure", "Really Bad Chess", and "Leap On!". And one of the conditions they had for even considering our game, was that the game should not have ever been published into any other platform.
And so, that's the reason why we went dark for a bit.
We're aware that All Bets doesn't have much of a following (if any at all) for now. Which is why we thought it'd be okay to just go dark and pretend like the game had never been here in Itch on the first place.
And though we realise this was disingenuous...
Please understand that it was done from a place of love for our game, and wanting really badly for it to reach its intended audience.
With that said...
If you're a publisher, and are interested in publishing our game, be sure to drop us a comment detailing how to contact you.
As of today, we're still open to offers.
We hope you all really enjoy the changes we made to All Bets, and may you all have a blast!

Sincerely,
